Arsenal signing sends message to Gunners fans about Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez

The Gunners are facing a battle to keep hold of their two prized assets with the January transfer window already starting to loom on the horizon. Ozil and Sanchez have both entered the final 12 months of their current deals and neither Arsenal player appears likely to sign a new contract at the north London club. Unsurprisingly, the Chile international has been heavily linked with a January move to Manchester City after his proposed summer transfer fell through on deadline day. Ozil wasn’t linked with many clubs during the summer but recent reports have suggested that Manchester United could look to reunite the World Cup winner with his ex Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho. Arsenal are in fifth place in the Premier League table following a return of three victories and one stalemate in their last four top-flight outings. Summer signing Kolasinac insisted that Ozil and Sanchez haven’t upset the atmosphere at the FA Cup holders despite the continued uncertainty surrounding their long-term futures. “Of course, we would be happy to keep them, but I think it is important not to talk about the contracts,’ Kolasinac told the Evening Standard. “Mesut and Alexis are two players who always give their all and it is not an issue. ‘It is not a problem around the team. ‘It gives the team security knowing we have players like them, knowing they can make the difference.” Arsenal signed Kolasinac in a free transfer from Bundesliga outfit Schalke 04 in the summer.
